Privacy Policy
ScaleBound SMP ("we", "us", "our") is a community Minecraft server. This policy explains what data we collect — including data processed by our custom mods — how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
When you play on ScaleBound SMP we record: your Minecraft username, UUID, playtime, distance walked, deaths, jumps, mob kills, player kills, damage dealt/taken, and advancement count. This data is synced by a server-side plugin and displayed on the Player History page.
ScaleBound SMP uses a custom-built Discord verification mod to link your Minecraft account to your Discord account. During verification, the mod records your Minecraft username, Minecraft UUID, Discord user ID, and verification timestamp. This link is stored server-side and is used exclusively to enforce the verified-member whitelist and assign Discord roles. It is never sold or shared with third parties. You may request unlinking at any time via a Discord ticket.
ScaleBound SMP operates a custom chat-linking mod that mirrors messages bidirectionally between in-game chat and a designated Discord channel. When active, your Minecraft username is attached to each message relayed to Discord, and your Discord display name is attached to each message relayed into the game. Messages are transmitted in real time and are subject to Discord's own retention and privacy policy once delivered. On the website, a live feed displays up to the last 100 bridged messages visible to all visitors; this buffer is purged on a rolling basis. We do not store chat logs in a persistent database beyond this rolling buffer.
ScaleBound SMP operates a Discord server. Discord's own privacy policy governs data collected through their platform. Within our server, moderators may log usernames and messages for moderation purposes. We do not sell this data or share it with third parties.
If you donate via Stripe, Stripe handles your payment details — we never see or store your card number. After checkout you are asked to provide your Minecraft username so we can grant your donor perks; we store this username, your donation amount, and a timestamp. If you donate via Ko-fi, Ko-fi's own privacy policy governs your payment data; we receive only your display name and donation amount via webhook.
Our hosting infrastructure may automatically log request IP addresses for security and abuse prevention. These are not linked to player identities and are not retained beyond standard operational retention periods.
2. Custom Mods & Data Processing
ScaleBound SMP runs several custom-developed server-side mods. The following mods process personal data:
Links your Minecraft UUID to your Discord user ID via a one-time in-game verification command. Data stored: Minecraft UUID, Minecraft username, Discord user ID, and verification timestamp. Purpose: whitelist enforcement and Discord role assignment. This data is held only while you remain an active member and is deleted upon request or when you leave the server.
Bridges in-game chat to a Discord channel and vice versa in real time. Data processed: Minecraft username (outbound to Discord) and Discord display name (inbound to Minecraft). No message content is stored persistently on our servers beyond the 100-message rolling website buffer. The Discord copy of relayed messages is subject to Discord's own retention policies.
All custom mods are server-side only. No mod code is distributed to players and no client-side data collection occurs through our mods.
3. How We Use Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.
4. Data Retention
- Gameplay stats — retained indefinitely to maintain accurate leaderboards
- Verification data (UUID–Discord link) — retained while you are an active member; deleted on request or upon departure
- Chat bridge messages — rolling buffer of ~100 messages on the website; no persistent server-side log
- Discord bot logs — up to 90 days for moderation purposes
- Donation records — retained for legal and financial record-keeping
5. Your Rights & Data Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data held by ScaleBound SMP. This includes:
- ✓ Your gameplay statistics from the Player History database
- ✓ Your Discord–Minecraft verification link
- ✓ Your Discord data collected by our bot
- ✓ Your entry in the donor feed (note: financial records may be kept for legal compliance)
To request deletion, open a ticket in our Discord server or contact an admin directly. We will process deletion requests within 14 days.
6. Third-Party Services
ScaleBound SMP uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policy:
- Discord — community platform; receives bridged chat messages and stores verification-linked user IDs
- Stripe — payment processing for donations
- Ko-fi — alternative donation platform
- Minotar — Minecraft player skin rendering
- Tebex — in-game rank store
7. Age Policy
ScaleBound SMP is a 16+ community. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a person under 16 has provided us with personal information, contact us for immediate removal.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the server or website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
